Mother Tongue is the language that shapes identity, thought, and culture from birth. Just as language reflects power, the way society perceives women shapes their personal and collective narratives. Women have long been the keepers of language and culture, yet, similar to native tongues lost to colonization, their voices have historically been silenced. In this performance, movement becomes our resistance. The body holds stories, reclaims space, and speaks where words fall short. We embody the tension between suppression and expression, translating silenced voices into physical storytelling. As we continue to strive toward gender justice, uplifting women’s stories is as vital as preserving cultural identity through language.
